What is “Item Option Upgrade”?

In general, there are 5 different types of weapons and armor in 2Moons that you can obtain from creatures while playing the game - Normal, Magic, Noble, Divine Noble, and Legendary. All of these items, except legendary items, can be refined by adding random qualities. This system allows you to take existing weapons and armor and increases their usefulness in various ways, and when successful, the option upgrade will result in a random improvement to the item being upgraded.

Learning more about 2Moons item options:
  1. Normal item – No existing modifications. Successfully refining a normal item will automatically turn it into a magic item.
  2. Magic item – Magic item already has two modifications. Successfully refining a magic item will turn it into a noble item.
  3. Noble item – Noble item already has three modifications. Successfully refining a noble item will automatically turn it into a divine noble item.
  4. Divine Noble item – Divine Noble item already has four modifications. Successfully refining a divine noble item essentially turns it into a legendary item, which cannot be refined any further.

Note: Legendary items cannot be further refined.

Explanation: You may upgrade any weapon or item of armor that is below the legendary status. If the process is successful, the item will gain one modification option and will advance one step in quality – Normal to Magic, for instance, or Magic to Noble. If the upgrade fails, there are three different possible results, which are described under “Failure results & Penalties” at the end of this section. Also refer to the three screens below for examples of different types of items:

User Interface

  1. Go to the Alchemist NPCs, Carmen at Braiken Castle or Isadora at Loa Castle, and select the option: “[Option Upgrade] I’d like to upgrade my current item option”.
  2. By selecting the menu above, the UI window (on the right side) will appear. A description of each function in the User Interface is as follows:
  1. Equipment Slot: Place a weapon or armor item to upgrade here.
  2. Real-time Option Information: The current modifications and grade of your weapon or armor item.
  3. Option Gem (Marvrics) Slot: One of three kinds of Marvrics (Copper, Silver, and Gold) is required to attempt an item upgrade.
  4. Optional Item Slot: To increase the chances of success, you can place an “Alchemist’s Will” (cash item) in the slot. You will see a change in the probability of success on the screen.
  5. DIL Costs: Indicates how much DIL is required.
  6. Required Gem: Tells you what kind of gem is required for this upgrade.

** More About Marvrics

1) Pass Marvric (Copper Color) – Use the Pass Marvric to upgrade from a Normal item to a Magic one.
2) Nium Marvric (Sliver Color) – Use the Nium Marvric to upgrade from a Magic item to a Noble one
3) Tatum Marvric (Gold Color) – Use the Tatum Marvric to upgrade from a Noble item to a Divine Noble one.

Note that Special Marvrics, DILs, and Alchemist’s Will are one-time useable items.

A Successful Result

  1. After pressing the “Start” button in the red-colored-box above, the upgrade process will begin. If it successes, you will receive a message: “Upgrade Success!!”
  2. If it successes, you will see details of how your item has been upgraded in the area bounded by the yellow box above.

Failure Result & Penalties

1. If failed, you will suffer one of three penalties:

  • None of its existing modifications will be changed
  • Your item will be degraded by one level and will lose one modification.
  • Your item will be degraded by two levels and it will lose two modifications.

In case your item is degraded, it will lose modifications in the opposite order in which they were added. In other words, the last modification or upgrade will be the first to be lost in case of the upgrade failure.
